DC Federation of Democratic Women in Washington, DC is a volunteer political organization empowering Democratic women through education, advocacy, and leadership opportunities, including candidate forums, Women in Blue Council Day, grassroots field work, and membership.
Founded in 1972 by two Democratic women's clubs, our Federation is the recognized women's arm of the Democratic Party, affiliated with the National Federation of Democratic Women and the DC Democratic State Committee.
Build confidence with civic education, policy discussions, and campaign skills designed for women.
Meet Democratic candidates, ask real questions, and center women's priorities in every race.
Stand with Democratic women at the Council, practice advocacy, and build connections.
Every woman arrives with a different story, and our pathway meets you where you are.
Start with our educational programs, then bring your questions to candidate forums.
When you are ready, join grassroots work like phone banking, postcarding, and doorknocking.
Along the way, experienced members offer mentorship, encouragement, and real leadership opportunities inside the Federation.
Your skills grow, your confidence deepens, and your voice carries further in every Democratic space.
Your gift fuels Women in Blue, candidate forums, trainings, and grassroots organizing that lift Democratic women into leadership and keep our advocacy strong and visible.
